I started to hate church and started to not participate anymore.

I would go to church because it was expected by my parents, but I did not really listen or participate. I would not go to church activities or read the scriptures. I avoided as much as I could.

I decided to see if what I was being taught was true for myself. Through this I realized I do believe in God and Jesus Christ.

I was in a bad place was probably starting to get depressed. I felt like something was missing. I was grumpy all the time and would never go do things with my friends. This is when I finally realized that I needed to know for myself and gain my own truths.
