Reiko Radhwa Rahadi

25 / XII.I

from my point of view, Both options have their own bad and good things. But for me, I would prefer to study outside Yogyakarta. Why? As a student who lives in Yogyakarta, trying new things outside, will certainly be a fun experience. We will learn to live independently, and enjoy freedom. Not only that, by living independently outside, we can also learn to think 2 steps ahead, about what to do today and tomorrow, how to save money, and good time management. Of course, this choice also needs to be discussed again with parents, There are many worries to think about but it all comes back to each person's choice.

Save money

If you choose a university that in the same city as you, then you don't need to spend money on renting boarding house or other necessary needs. In addition, Jogja also has a low cost of living, so it's very possible to save our money. If you choose a university outside Jogja, the cost of living there is definitely higher.

2. In Jogja there are many quality universities

This could be because Jogja is called as "Kota Pelajar". Then we can see too that Jogja's universities, such as UGM or UNY, now are the top universities in Indonesia.

3. Not far from parents

This can reduce your parents worries about you and they will be better able to protect you from bad behavior that usually occurs at students' age.

4. Make it possible to meet your old friends

This is because your old friends, such as your elementary school friends, your junior high school friends, or your high school friends who are definitely from the same city as you, it is very possible that they might be choose a university that is in the same city as them.

Yogyakarta is known for its strong academic environment, with many top universities like UGM. The city is also affordable, so you can save on living costs compared to other cities. Plus, the culture and student-friendly atmosphere make it a great place to grow and meet new people. Staying in Yogyakarta also means you can be close to your family and familiar surroundings, which might give you extra comfort during your studies.

Nisa Nurmala Sari /21 /XII.i

To my mind, studying in Jogja is a better decision. In addition to saving costs on renting a boarding house because the college is nearby, we can save money for other purposes and occasionally go shopping for self-reward. We are also still close to family, because for some people being far from family may not be possible. The campuses in Yogyakarta are just as good as those located outside of Yogyakarta. Therefore, I believe that studying in Jogja is the right decision.

But you also have to be mentally and physically prepared to face everything on your own. Besides that, I don't know about your luck, maybe life in another city will be the path of success.

EUGENIA CHIARA LUELLA(10)

As far as I’m concerned, choosing where to study is deeply personal and depends on your priorities. For me, I prefer to stay in Yogyakarta. University in Yogyakarta offers a rich academic environment and also Yogyakarta has many top universities like UGM, UNY, UPN etc which can improve your personal ability and personal branding. And if you stay in Yogyakarta, it means you can still stay with your family right? However, studying outside of Yogyakarta might give you the opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and explore new challenges that could shape your independence and adaptability. Both options have their advantages, and it really comes down to what aligns best with your personal goals and aspirations anya. Anyway, if you stay in Yogyakarta the costs you incur may also not be as high as if you studied outside of Yogyakarta!
