I feel that by making our laws tougher it would make people less likely to bring drugs into our country. It ruins people lives, destroy families and worst of all causes death.  Illicit drug use in Australia is a huge problem due to the amount of drugs being brought in illegally on a daily basis from drug traffickers. I personally dont think our laws are tough enough in Australia. The importing of drugs into Australia is a federal crime.
- Commercial quanity (for selling)= Life
- Marketable quanity = 25 years.
- Lesser quanities if importing with intent to sell = 10 years.

While I still think our laws need to be tougher, im not sure the death penalty should be used in every case. My mind changed after  watching a clip on The Bali 9. Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran they  had really turned their lives around while in prison and in my opinion should not of been executed.  They  showed that they regreted what they had done and were helping a lot  of people in prison in a positive way.
