In my experience, I connected way more with teachers who were relaxed and laid back than teachers who had more stern, serious ways of presenting themselves. I liked cool teachers that were also great educators. Those were always the most fun classes to be in.

I did not know much about body language until i got older, a lot can be conveyed in body language. This taught me to be mindful of how i can convey messages. For example, if I am disgusted I can make a face. We must be mindful of the negative body language.

Most confident people get their sense of confidence from being knowledgable in their work. If you put in the work, it will show! I'm my most confident when I have gone over something time and time again so practice does help boost confidence.

I think people are so different and their experiences can be so varied, to one person who has had a healthy childhood maybe certain tones and body language cues would seem fine but to others some things may be threatening so it is important to be aware of body language!

Our background and upbringing can be a major influence on how we perceive body language. For example, in some cultures, looking at someone in the eye when you are speaking to them is a sign of respect, while in others, it is actually the opposite. We as culturally responsive teachers need to be mindful of these discrepancies between how different cultures view body language

I personally feel like a teacher has more authority when they stand up tall and proud and speak loudly and clearly, but I also have found I am more receptive to teachers who feel more relatable and are more relaxed. I feel more comfortable when the teacher seems more comfortable.
