Yourself is yourself, even in the religious community." Trans people have had a lot of trouble over time including discrimination and bullying, which can cause them things like depression. In general, trans people do not want you telling you who they are or what they should do, just like we wouldn't enjoy that either.

Transgender people are just like other people and are Mums, Dads, Brothers, Sisters, Sons are Daughters. They are co-workers, neighbours. They are 7 year old children and they are 70 year old grandparents, and they come in all shapes and sizes. They are exactly like ordinary people and prefer to be referred to as the gender they want to be. We have to accept this and follow these actions to respect them.

They become really stressed, finding a tough time and losing a few friends because of them being transgender.

 If you are getting bullied because you're a transgender you tell your parent and report it to a trusted teacher. But if you are too afraid to tell your parents and teacher you could tell a trusted friend to support you to get it to stop. If the bullying involves threats or violence then it should be reported to the police as a hate crime. Many police forces have specialist who deal with these problems/incident. But if people are bullying you online because you are transgender just screenshot it as evidence and show it to your parents, teachers or to the police.

Boy to girl transsexuals have said that they  got the message from parents that it wasn’t ok for them to play dolls with their sisters or neighbors, and that they were expected to do boy things, like rough and tumble play.  Kids of this age start to get the idea that there is a part of themselves that must remain hidden.

 The main problem of growing up with gender Dysphoria, aside from the body
dysphoria itself is the social predicament.  Essentially everyone expects the individual to be and act like a boy/girl, when they feel inside to be a girl/boy.

In a small town called Grass Lake, all the parents want their kids to have a place where they can grow up peacefully and learn lots no matter who they are. This is what they call their starting point in collaboration. There are two mums here who have transgender kids and at the kids school the school principal has decided to let the transgender children go to the bathrooms matching their gender identity. The school and community is quite tight and have lots of support from medical and health providers to social workers and families. They also said "when you create a safe, welcoming environment for LGBTQ children, you make the school safer and more welcoming for every child.

 What struggles does a Transgender face daily? 

                                     Our thoughts:
  1. I think that as a transgender you are faced with the fact of all the people around you not agreeing with your discretion to be transgender.
  2. I think that transgender people struggle with people accepting them of who they are. E.g This 9yr old boy told his mum that he was gay and his mum was fine with that but then he told his friends that he was gay and they told him to die and then he did.
  3. They also have the struggle of the surgery that they face thinking that they can’t go through because we as New Zealanders can’t get surgery in NZ because there are not enough people that can do the surgery so having to go out of the country is not good.

One of the biggest issues with females and M to F transgenders are the bathrooms where they do not feel comfortable with a man being in there toilet, some women have said they felt “vulnerable”. If it is children often they will turn to bullying because the transgender student is different to them. most elderly people also aren't to supportive either, usually because of the way they were raised, boys are boys and girls are girls, no in between.

Why do transgenders have struggles? 

Not everyone can be accepting and supportive because  they dislike the fact you are different. They are discriminated simply by the fact you love someone from the same gender. Because of this some transgenders are denied jobs, some are rejected and shun from their families, and are treated like someone who is not normal.
