Using a tool such as padlet would be a great place for students to collaborate with their group members. My only issue with this is that in China this tool requires a VPN. I am sure there are tools that are not restricted, but I would need to explore those.

Final Product Idea

A big focus for our school this year is to push the students in how they share their learning in their final product. We want the students to create experiences, rather than "poster board presentations." This is hard to think of and it is hard to find great examples of what can be done. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.

Mentor Meeting Planner

I realize that this is just another "planner" idea, but I think that having a form to guide students in the preparation of their mentor meetings will help. The biggest feedback from mentors that I get is that students have a hard time sharing. I think that students need some form of "practice" before these meetings, that is quick and helpful.

What exactly is the mentor expected to do? I confess I'm still a bit in the dark about that. Is this mentor meant to be something of a guide on the whole subject-specific process, with whom they have for example a weekly check-in? Or just someone they can go to for specific questions or when they get stuck etc?
I do agree it would be helpful for both parties if they know what they're supposed to discuss :-)
/ Margreeth

I am not an expert on this matter, but I was a mentor last year, and my role was to guide and support. So, you are spot-on!

Our students and mentors are usually briefed before the PYPX on the expectations.

They are usually required to check in with their mentors twice a cycle and to provide evidence of findings which are then discussed in detail.

The students and mentors also have guidelines that must be adhered to, which are used to assess them and their progress throughout their journey. The mentor completes the final report at the end of the exhibition.

I hope this makes sense.
