Standard: Analyze characteristics and properties of two- and three-dimensional geometric shapes and develop mathematical arguments about geometric relationships

Structure of the Lesson: Students will listen to the read aloud.
- Discussion Questions: What are the different shapes you noticed? Are all shapes flat?
After the discussion, students will explore the classroom trying to find 3D shapes in the room. Students will then try to build those shapes with precut paper and tape. I will bring the students back to the carpet to debrief on their process and introduce the vocab, which would be the name of the 3D shapes.
Assessment: Students will draw different examples of the 3D shapes in a worksheet I collect.
