Fortunately I came across this video which explain's how to set up your instrument with the Scarlett interface, how to level your instrument so it doesn't peak or distort and lastly how to add in app effects to your logic project.

From the video I was told that I had to change the input device to the interface in preferences so that I was able to record the actual bass. As you can see at the bottom where the actual recordings are you can see the number of takes I took to get the recordings right. Fortunately the bass wasn't playing throughout the song just in 3 sections, this enabled me to take multiple takes, choose which ones I liked and stop the recordings and skip sections.]]> 2016-11-24 10:03:55 UTC https://padlet.com/535810/fkrjxohdxaa7/wish/139726884 535810 https://padlet.com/535810/fkrjxohdxaa7/wish/139729719 I was satisfied with the quality of recording that I recorded, the only thing that I had to do to make it better was to EQ in order for it to sound good. In addition to make the bass sound even better to fit in with the midi instruments I added the bass amp simulator/plugin. I did this because I recorded the bass directly into the interface instead of recording out of the amp into the interface. 

This lost a lot of character and tone, so in order for me to make the bass sound more warm and to add tone I add low end onto the EQ round about 20-150 Hz with the amplitude of 5 which gave the EQ a shelf curve an. Adding the extra plugins gave the bass extra boost in volume so once i added the plugins I was able to mix the track a bit better.
