This new habit of questioning has also changed how I check if something is credible. The CRAAP test was a game changer, especially the "Authority" and "Purpose" parts. For my blog post, I used a source from an economics professor. Before this unit, I would have just seen "professor" and trusted it. Now, I asked myself again "What is this professor's goal?" I realized his purpose was to analyze economic trends, not necessarily to represent the human experience of the people in his data. This made my blog post analysis way stronger because I wasn't just repeating facts, I was thinking about the power and the points of view that were being left out. I'm no longer just a consumer of information, I feel like an active critic, an online citizen who knows what I'm doing.
