Lennie: Lennie is an insecure character even though he's a big guy with muscles, he is really easy to take control over since he lacks the brains. He also gets himself into trouble quite often because of his childish acts.
Curley: Despite being the son of the owner of the ranch, Curley is a character who picks fights quite often and has quite a few enemies by now. He's a short guy but high tempered. He has control over his wife but, at the same time he has no control over her since she always ignores his instructions and sneaks out.
Curley's wife: Curley's wife is a character who's insecure because of her own acts. She ignores her husband's instructions and wanders off into the ranch. Later into the story you can tell how insecure it is.
Crooks: Crooks is a character who is only in secure because of his race. He does have a book stating his rights however the rights themselves seem to be pretty bias.

Lennie: Lennie is always found in places that generally people would not like to be found in, such as walking in a swamp, in a barn, having to stay on the farm when the rest of the people are gone out.

Curley: Curley is always on the ranch acting like the boss, when in reality he is the bosses son. He is always in the workers quarters, looking for his wife, or can't be found.

Curleys Wife: She is always insecure, because she doesn't want to be living on a ranch with someone who she doesn't love (Curley). She always wants company, and seeks to satisfy her feeling of loneliness with the workers. She isn't allowed out of the house, although she always goes around looking for Curley.

Crooks: Due to crooks skin color, he is considered "dirty". One evident setting for this is his room. Out side his room is a manure heap, and its next to the barn, indicating that the room he was given was based on what people thought of him. He also doesn't like people inside his room. He is found inside his room most of the time.
