Although this could fall under the "infectious diseases" category, Alzheimer's is traditionally thought to be a disease caused by certain lifestyle choices, including or excluding a genetic predisposition. So the potential that there could be other extraneous factors contributing to the onset of this disease could prove beneficial to developing newer treatments.

I heard about this new law from a small farmer in southern Colorado who was outraged at the new regulations. The cost of implementing these new regulations will significantly impact the smaller farmers potentially putting many out of business or preventing many from entering in the first place. I found it shocking that the impact on food safety would be minimal compared to the repercussions on farmers.

The world's fisheries support "12% of the global population and 38 million fishermen and women." States like Florida and Michigan passed policies just yesterday to limit the number of days a patient with acute issues would be on opioid medications to 3 and 7 days respectively. I think that this is a really important move by the educational system to acknowledge mental health issues and help give student information and tools. There is one million dollars in grants to help develop the curriculum. This goes a long way to helping address the mental health of the people and finally starts to address it at a younger age. This will hopefully make it less of a taboo or sigma and help get adolescents even more help and resources for dealing with mental illness.
