Both of the story 's talk about how, these two kids are nervous , or afraid , before a sport event or try outs . They had to go through an obstacle , such as Pierre suffering from a panic attack , while Francesca suffering from a fever two to three days before her event in swimming . But both of the stories end with the main character winning , or being happy .

I think, that both the stories signify that no matter how talented you are, self-confidence plays an important role in actually achieving your goal. Francesca and Pierre are extremely gifted and talented. They just required a little push of self-esteem from their elders and peers. They would have definitely lost if they wouldn't have stopped getting nervous. Once you stop doubting yourself, you would be amazed at the feats, a little bit of self-confidence can achieve.

Finally in the end, they realise that it is wrong to take stress unnecessarily.

They were nervous and were insecure about their talent. A person who gave them support and validation made them realize that they can do it and they are very talented in their sport. This person gave them confidence to try and achieve their goals

But later after taking rest and gaining confidence they knew they could do it . In order to achieve anything we should take care of ourselves and be confident that we can do it!!
