1.)I would prefer to use the combination of the coursebook, authentic materials and the tasks from other sources. Because the variety is important for teaching and learning pocess both.Sometimes it is better to use the coursebook as it is ready to use and suitable to the curriculum. However if it doesn’t serve the purpose of the objectives we can choose materials from other sources. In this way, we can differentiate the tasks according to the students’ needs and interests and levels.Beacuse each student is unique.

2.)In today’s sessions, I loved the idea of peer checking. Students check their pair’s answers about the listening task and learn from them. This can improve colloboration and confidence. Also ICQs are a good way to check the students’ understanding.I would definitely use them.

1.)In my local area, the most common problem related to teaching speaking is that students are so afraid of making mistakes that they don’t even try.

2.) I think creating a positive atmosphere is very beneficial. So they can be sure that nobody can make fun of them.Good modelling is also important and I will definitely give much attention to it from now on.But the most outstanding idea is making speaking activities digital (such as flip app) as the students can make self correction after recording and correct themselves before publishing it.There are so many useful ideas in today’s session(think time, peer correction, constructive critism,…)But I guess my number one is digitalisation

1.)When I think about today’s session, I can say that differentiation is a great way to solve the problems in my local district. Because there are so many students with mixed abilities and levels. So I suppose by using this idea we can alleviate the problem a little bit. Also station technique is a unique one.And I learnt that we shouldn’t forget to limit the time and determine the rotation of the stations.Otherwise there could be some kind of chaos in the class. While doing reading sessions, I enjoyed the idea of lowering the level or making it a little hard.In this way we can design our own tasks according to our students with varied levels, different interests, various learning styles.

1.)Actually, after today’s session, I learnt that planning our writing is very essential for my local area cause they aren’t used to writing. So teaching students how to plan their writing is a key to improve writing skills. Also, some snack writing activities can be fun and get their attention.(I liked Netiquette task)We should also make writing skills relevant to how they use it in real life.

1.) From the grammar session, I suppose deductive teaching is the most suitable one.In my local area, the classrooms are crowded and time is limited. Also their levels are low.Ofcourse I’d rather teach inductively and make students active in grammar sessions. But the limitations force me to apply more controlled activities

2.) I think my colleagues would want to discuss concept checking questions about grammar. They would also want to discuss differentiation and digitalisation of the grammar subject.I believe CCQs should be prioritised as this terminology is quite new to them.In today’s lesson, I tried so hard to understand it. Asking CCQs are hard actually. Therefore, I might give a little more importance to provide my colleagues with this new idea.In this way they can easily check their understanding and make the meaning and grammar concept clear. In addition, it is such a good way to give instant feedback and prevent long lasting errors.

3.)The greatest benefit of being in a PDC is that teachers no more feel isolated, desperate or as if they were the only ones who deal with problems in teaching.Instead, they feel that they are a part of a safe, supportive, collaborative community. They can share ideas , guide each other throughout the process. They can learn new things and develop themselves professionally. They will also be able to talk about and express their ideas without being judged or criticised.

4.)I have met very nice, open-minded and supportive colleagues here. And we have created whats app groups.I believe we will support each other, ask for help when we feel confused or need encouragement. In addition, we reflect on after our sessions, ask for suggestions.I am sure our mentors will be there whenever we need them or ask their advice.

5.)I think that this programme provided me a good sample. So the good modelling of our mentors would be so helpful for me in my Pdc sessions.I learnt how to deal with my colleagues in a motivating way. It gives me an idea of being a supportive and praising, encouraging facilitator. Also materials and sources or digital tools mentioned in the programme gave me a sense of confidence as I feel that I am improving myself day by day. Therefore, I believe that I will try to do my best to plan and conduct my Pdc sessions by using the input given in the programme.
