They used their right to petition, protest, and free speech to protest the redistricting bill. These teens are protesting redistricting that would make it difficult for low-income communities to vote and majorly Black communities to vote in upcoming elections. Not only would it restrict voting from those communities but it would make it easier for more conservative districts to vote whereas in more democratic districts it would be more difficult. Not having any say in what happens politically to your community as a child can be frustrating, especially when it directly effects you. Redistricting can mean students changing schools and not being able to do anything about it is opposing.
