On page two, the protagonist Summer is going out to the night club with her friends. In the quote, when the supporting character Lewis, tells Summer "Are you sure you don't want me to drop you off?" that shows how protective he is towards Summer and how much he cares for her. When he says, "You look beautiful as always". it shows that he admires the protagonist Summer and how he always thinks shes beautiful.

"From his grip" 20

On page 20, the supporting character Violet is arguing with the other supporting character Clover. In the quote when Violet said, "We're not a family you psycho!" She had been wanting to tell Clover but had always been afraid until then when she felt the courage to say it. In the quote when it says, "wrenching her arm from his grip" shows that Clover was griping onto Violets arm and how serious the argument was.

"boring life back" page 15

On page fifteen, the protagonist Summer wishes that she could get her old life back. In the quote it says, "I want Lewis" shows that the protagonist Summer wants to be with the supporting character Lewis and wishes she could be with him. "I want my nagging parents, annoying brother, and my old, boring life back" shows that Summer misses family and her old life and wishes she could go back to her old life.

"haven't I haven't" 70

On page 70, the supporting character Violet is telling the protagonist Lily/Summer to not give up hope on escaping. In the quote, the supporting character Violet says, "Lily, you're not like Rose and Poppy." That shows that Violet has faith in Lily/Summer to be different than Rose and Poppy. "They've given up and you haven't, I haven't" shows that Violet has faith in Summer/Lily and later on would want to create an escape plan.
