         <description><![CDATA[<div>3. The divers did not leave the plane at the same time, but they were able to control their speed to catch up to one another<br>4. The divers were able to change the horizontal and vertical components of air resistance that were acting on them by changing the angle of their body. Depending on the surface area facing downward, left, or right, they were able to change direction and acceleration<br>5. The divers are able to accelerate or decelerate based on their surface area. A greater surface area increases air resistance, which will decrease acceleration.<br><br></div>]]></description>

By pointing their head towards the ground, they reduce surface area and thus reduce the drag coefficient. By laying stomach flat and spreading out their limbs, surface area increases and thus the drag coefficient increases. The higher the drag coefficient the slower the person travels.While laying flat, the people can tilt laterally to move on the horizontal plane. With all of this, the people are able to maneuver into the formation.</div>]]></description>

The divers control their speed by adjusting their surface area that would be going against the air.&nbsp; For example, if a person is parallel to the ground, their surface area affected by air is larger than if they were standing straight up. Therefore, they would have more air resistance&nbsp; in a horizontal position than if they were standing up.  As such, a diver can accelerate and decelerate by changing their amount of drag by changing their body position.</div>]]></description>
