https://www.teenvogue.com/story/capres-willow-turner-black-lives-matter-protest
The central idea is that if you believe in something, you can use your resources to bring people together. One fascinating detail that supports this central idea is from the part of the article where Capres, an 18 year old who lives in London, England, said," That's what really got me riled up and frustrated me because it was just, like, why? What's going on with the world? I thought we had hope. I thought things were getting better," (Lawrence, 2017). Capres was frustrated about the video leaked about Philando Castile, a man who was shot by the Minnesota police. After watching it, she decided to get involved with the Black Lives Matter organization and take action. Another piece of evidence is in the article discusses how Capres organized a protest. It states, "Capres took to Facebook to organize a Black Lives Matter protest in Central London that would commence at the Oxford Circus tube station on July 10, 2016," (Lawrence, 2017). This supports my central idea because it is showing that in the end Capres did stand up for what she believes in and she succeeded. Also she used her resources to make people become more interested in the topic by only using social media. it states, "In the end, approximately 3,000 people attended, a feat that still stuns Capres," (Lawrence, 2017). Overall, she brought people together and showed that you have to use the resources you have to stand up for what you believe in and bring people together.

https://newsela.com/read/teen-soap-charity/id/21620/
Even though Donovan recovered from homelessness, he still came back to help those like him, during the dark period of his life. Donovan is a 13 year old boy, who owns a soap selling business. He donates his profits to those who are homeless and in need. This shows that even though he wants to leave that part if him behind, he will always sympathize for those who need to overcome their dark period too. Another example of this is how he writes children's books about homelessness. He can really connect with the children out there who are going through the same thing as him and bring them joy, plus hope. A final example is, sadly, related to the death of a young girl in New Mexico. Donovan spoke out about the horrific event and stirred up a whole lot of media, "It happens far to often. If you're a kid that’s been abused, I need you to be brave, and I need you to find an adult that you trust and tell them that you are being hurt, and keep telling them until they listen." Donovan is an activist that cares for all, and is observant enough, to see that your life isn't full, until you can help fix others.

One of the central ideas of this story is that Emma has never stopped fighting for stricter gun laws and she's fighting harder and harder. Ever since the shooting, Emma created a twitter account to raise awareness about guns. "She created the @Emma4Change handle to promote stricter gun laws, and along with other Parkland survivors she founded March for Our Lives, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization pushing for stricter gun laws and registering young voters,"(variety.com). Emma is persuading young people to vote because every year a lot of people turn 18 and they need to go vote for better gun laws. Even though sometimes it might seem like she can not do enough, Emma never gives up. Emma may have wanted to, because the situation was not the best, but she never gave up on herself and others. No matter what obstacles came Emma's way, her friends and family always supported her. Emma and her friends have always supported each other and had each others back. Especially recently, when they have all been through the same experience, so they know how to console and learn from each other.
