I had to keep putting it down because it was too scary. Stephen King is a great writer who develops his characters greatly. I cared too much about those kids and almost didn't finish the book.... I don't think I'll be reading it again. There is a sense in the book that people are reading the bible as they would read science text, fact, fact, fact.
