Also, the board was being very reckless with their decision on the very first meeting. I feel like they were anxious and we're mostly tired of being stuck in the house and rushed at every opportunity to reopen and be in person. Their decision was derived from emotion. They did not think to consider the students' thoughts and opinions and how we feel about the situation. They rushed us into whether we should go back or transfer schools which was unfair because we had to make that decision within the span of 3 days. It wasn't fair to the students that worked hard to be at Tracy High and to the ones who decided to stay safe as well as people around them. But, a lot of the students were willing to go back for the sake of sports seasons regardless of the safety of people around them. While others were forced to go back because they were apart of programs they couldn't get out of and it didn't matter if they didn't wanted to go back or not. Going back on Nov. 2nd felt way too rushed, and no one had any idea how the hybrid model would work or what it would look like. It was really inconsiderate of the district to force the "special programs" students to go back even if they had health problems, just to stay in their program. One positive thing is that by not going back to school, we can keep ourselves safe and not risk getting sick or possibly dying. I don't really think there are any negatives to waiting to go back to school.
