I spent the whole week drafting ideas before settling on this one and sitting down to draw it. I really like how the different layers of distance turned out and the shadowing. She’s 19 years old making her an adult in their world. While she might come across as cold and emotionless she actually deeply cares for her family and friends. She’s logical by nature and tends to value the facts over emotions. Mag, as Bones calls her, is 5’6”, black oil slick feathers for hair, yellow owl like eyes, and on the lighter side of a brown skin tone. She’s very slim but has a lot of muscle hidden underneath her baggy layered clothes. She has long sharp talons but is more skilled with map making than fighting. She enjoys exploring the waste writing down every small detail she comes across. She takes her little sister Polly to school everyday before heading out in the waste to scavenge . She brings what she finds to Rattle at the local tinker shop. I think Zendaya would voice Magpie perfectly. She knows Bones since they’re in the same town but later meet Mercury in the Bubble on accident looking for medicine.

He is 20 years old and totally soft. He’s very easily embarrassed and very emotional centered. He’s 6’0” tall but tends to hunch down to Mag’s height, he has messy sand colored hair and bright green eyes with freckles, tanned skin, he looks more human than Mag but internally is built to run highspeeds with two sets of lungs and two hearts. He wears loose clothes and always has his funky hat on. Bones is deeply protective of the ones he loves. He looks scary but is actually a sweetheart till he does have to fight. He’s amazing at fixing things including people but is even better at destroying them. He prefers the peaceful option but sometimes that isn’t an option. He is mute by choice for reasons him and his father won’t disclose. He’s always fixing things in the shop or following Magpie around like a lost puppy. I think Bones if or when he does choose to talk would be voiced by Henry Cavill. As stated before he has a major crush on Magpie and later by her side meets Mercury.

He’s in control only because of his family name, he used to be amazing at capturing people’s attention but never could have a child. He sits in the same chair morning and night writing new laws and propaganda. I think mike nussbaum would voice him and be very good at it. The two break into the 5th level on accident and meet him after the guards drag them in.

I think this is the most complex drawing I have ever done. Trying to get everything to scale and look cohesive was hard but so worth it. I am so happy with how it turned out, especially the sizing of everything. It was such a fun concept putting together a tiger and a peacock, especially the color pallet. The final for me was the most challenging. I usually draw either characters or a background but never both with full details. These projects helped me develop my art style more. I never really shaded with color before so it helped me learn more about that. In the future I would study the color wheel more so I can use the shadow technique. I use a lot of reds in my personal works so I would put green under the darkest shadows. I would study anatomy more. I would push myself to draw hands more often. I really loved this class and it helped my art grow while also giving me a break from my college classes.
