Symbolic plays a role in early childhood for example children were stacking up blocks as if they were making a building. 

They have that type of ego that gives them idea that if they can't see anything then themselves are invisible to others.

Children also go through conservation... Meaning that they can reverse they answer and they also don't see things in different aspects
