Guevara had a middle class upbringing alongside 4 younger siblings. Young Che was an avid reader, and quite an athletic child. You could say these traits foretold his future pursuits as a tactician of guerilla warfare. 
As he grew to be a young man, Guevara traveled Latin America, and came to witness the consequences of poverty, and it had a great influence in shaping his philosophy pertaining social issues.

Guevara recorded his thoughts in a journal, as he and his Granado traversed the land on a motorcycle they named “La Poderosa” (The Mighty One). Although the bike’s lifespan was very short, they kept on traveling.

SouthAmericanWashington https://padlet.com/SouthAmericanWashington/fjwrcgp2v9hhjjcx/wish/1988187501 1953 was the year that Guevara dedicated himself to Marxist beliefs, as he was in Guatemala, which at the time was led by a progressive regime until it was overthrown that year. He came to the conclusion that the United States would always oppose leftist governments. He wanted to spread Socialism. After Guatemala, Guevara headed to Mexico, where he met Fidel and Raul Castro. The rest is history. Che Guevara played a big role in overthrowing the dictatorship occupying Cuba, and establishing socialism in the country. 

I chose this person because the subject of politics is interesting. Laws, and how we organize ourselves affects our everyday lives. They are conditions placed by humans that dictate the actions of humans, or place them in line with some sort of fate, or force them to use their free will under circumstances.  
But Che was a revolutionary. He would advocate for freedom. 

Che Guevara was the Marxist revolutionary whose influence had a tight grip in the political realm of the mid 20th century. You may have seen his face branded on many t-shirts -  but more seriously - he’s been made a symbol of counter culture, as his image has been raised high in protest against the powers that be, and murals dedicated to the late Cuban leader are scattered across the Western world.
