To show what you have learned (AFTER LEARNING)... </strong><br><br><strong>A</strong>: FINISH THESE SENTENCES using the words VOLUME, CELL MEMBRANE,&nbsp; and anything else you learned in the <em>bubble lab OR the gummy bear lab</em>. <br><br><mark>If the cell membrane lets water </mark><strong><mark>IN,</mark></strong><mark> then an apple will taste juicier because the water is what makes the apple juicier. The more water the cell membrane takes in, the greater the volume will be. This provides more room for the vacuole to take water in, making the apple juicer. <br><br>If the cell membrane lets water</mark><strong><mark> OUT</mark></strong><mark>, then an apple will taste drier because the cell won't have as much water in it. This will decrease the volume. When the volume is smaller, the size of the cell also decreases, making it much harder for the vacuole to store water. The turgor pressure pushes the cytoplasm out, pushing out the cell membrane, making the cell walls strong and sturdy, making the apple </mark></em>crispy. This also means that with a full vacuole, there will be a lot of water in the cells, making the apple juicy. <mark><br><br></mark><em><mark>If the vacuole shrinks, then an apple will taste dry and weak because the turgor pressure will be weak. The lack of turgor pressure collapses the cytoplasm, collapses the cell membrane, then collapses the cell walls, making the apple mushy without any crunch.
