The Day
I didn't know that we were in the same college. When he first talked to me, we both do not know each other. Days and days go by, and he is a nice friend, caring and sweet. Eventhough he may not be in the same batch and we do not see each other everyday, it doesn't stop us from being friend. They say "love is limitless", isn't it? I see you everyday at the cafe but words do not seem to come out from my mouth. My feeling for you still stay the same. Never less but it grows day by day. I wonder if I could go back to those sweet days. I hope you still remember your words that you said to me "I want to take care of you and share everything with you later". Every single day, I always hope that everything will get better between you and me.

Calming weather, swaying trees, chirping birds and the villagers' smiling faces. Everything seemed like welcoming the strangers to their small yet peaceful rural area. Everything looked new and perfect in the eyes of the trio.

An eight-hour journey was tiring but their excitement overshadowed it. The super friendly villagers had won the trio's heart by their first met. Some were inviting for tea and dinner and some were offering a ride strolling around. This kind of hospitalities were really unexpected.

Eating the freshwater fish (ikan sungai) and unfamiliar dishes felt different, watching the indigenous jumping off the trees into the river was exciting, having a picnic by the riverbank was delighting, swimming in the river between the forest trees was thrilling and seeing the big and rare wallago catfish (ikan tapah) was tremendously shocking. Despite all those adventures, the three modern girls had so much fun and new experiences.

Even though they had to go through the muddy road, come far away from Terengganu into the thick green forest, it was definitely worthy. Kampung Kuala Sat will surely be missed.

The clock hits at seven on the dot in the morning and the alarm beeps loudly waking up Rayyan to start his dull day. He gets off his bed, grabs his towel and dashes straight to the bathroom. He turns the tap on and cold water hits him head to toe. Leaving the bathroom, he puts his usual Monday outfit on and grabs his backpack rushing to the class before the gate is closed.

At 8 o'clock, Rayyan, like a robot, follows the boring daily schedule. He sits quietly in the corner of the class, isolated from his classmates. Being socially awkward and introverted, he rarely makes any interaction with anyone. All that he notices is that sounds are too loud to his sensitive ears, and eyes are gazing at him. But, he denies to care about the others. He is labelled as a weird boy by his classmates.

At 10 o'clock, Rayyan walks to the cafe, alone. His eyes are focusing on his favourite dish, Butter Chicken. Then, he grabs his old, torn wallet. He is not surprised by the emptiness of his wallet as his allowance has not been credited yet. He walks away with a sad face and a starving stomach. He gets back to his class and waits for others. The class ends later in the afternoon and Rayyan walks back to his room. And the following days are just like this day.

The Journey

School finally finished. I could still remember my last day at school. It was an examination! Major examination which will provide a path for me to pursue my studies. An examination which I will prove that I can be a successful person. An examination that I am looking forward to redeem my mistakes years ago. Yes, everyone makes mistakes. I was not studying for one year which is during form 4. I was busy during that year as we called that year as a 'honeymoon year'. But, life must go on and I take this spirit for me to move on and to prove them wrong. I can do it? Yes! I can.

All in all, I've passed my examination with 6As and 3Bs. Distinction in English Language! This results encouraged me to apply for TESL in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). I also applied for TESL in Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG) which trains future teachers. It has always been my ambition to be a teacher. I wanted to continue my family's legacy. Destiny has decided my life. I brought myself to Dengkil which area was so tranquil and made me felt calm eventhough there was not tree there. I enjoyed the university life as I loved what I did at UiTM. As the days passed by, my university life has shown me way out to? To a new place.

Now, I’m here. Chasing my dream; teacher to be. Ready to serve for national need.

A journey to remember (by Hanin ft. Irah

One evening during the weekend when I woke up from a short nap, I instantly checked my phone. I received a message from my mom. "Grandmother's condition is deteriorating". I glanced at my watch. It's 3.37pm. After thinking for some time whether I should go home or not at that moment, I've decided to go back though I'm alone. Throughout the period of 6 months holding driving license, I've never travel a long distance alone. She was 183 km away. But that day I decided I'm going to fight my fear for the sake of visiting my grandmother . I texted my mom "I'm going back now. Alone". So I quickly packed my stuff, bringing only the important stuffs and some clothings.

I started my journey around 4pm. I still remember I had mixed feelings at that time. I was quite scared since it was my first time driving alone for a long distance and I was worried that I won't get to see my grandmother . I was in a rush but I kept reminding myself I need to drive carefully.

After an hour of driving, it started to rain heavily. I had to slow down the speed since I couldn't see the road clearly. Then when I was about 50km away to reach my destination I suddenly saw a car overturned and started to spin on the road. The car stopped spinning when its hit the divider. I was startled to witness such thing in front of my eye.

Since it was late in the evening, there's not much car on the road. Hence I was hesitated to go to the accident spot and give a hand to them because I wanted to reach my destination quickly. I was trapped, whether I should continue my journey or help the victim because nobody was around at that time. I wanted to continue my journey but I felt guilty to do so. So I decided to slow down my car and stop by the road to see the condition of the victim.

I saw there were two people in the car. I assumed they were siblings since the other one is younger than the driver. The driver was awake though I saw there was minor injury cut on her forehead. However she was probably still in shock with the accident that just occurred. I called her but she was not responding. Suddenly her younger sister cried in pain. The broken pieces of the glass strucked into her foot and it caused her foot to bleed tremendously. I wanted to help them get out from the car but I can't because the door could not be opened. So I decided to broke the back windshield with the steering lock. As soon I broke the windshield I asked the driver to get out through it together with her younger sister. She managed to escape from the car and by that time there were few other cars stopped by to offer help. So I asked them to call for the emergency line. I considered that they will be able to bring them to the hospital for further treatment. I had to leave. Then, I continued my journey and finally reach destination 30 minutes later. I kept thinking about the victim's condition. I have no idea what happened to that family but I truly hope that all of them were safe.

The following day, at 9.03 am, my grandmother passed away at the hospital. It was a very pain and sad truth for me to accept but I know the fate had written it all. However I was glad that I manage to see her for the last time. Later on, I saw on the front page of a newspaper about an accident occured at Kemaman. It seems familiar to me. It was that siblings that I help the previous day. I read through the article and find the sentence that I'm looking for. "The victims was safe though they suffer some minor injury and currently they are being treated in Hospital Kemaman".

That day was one of those difficult days for me where I had to make important decisions that could give impact to my life and others as well. Till this day, I never regret those decisions that I've made.
