Autobiographies are useful for the memory. They allow of na not to forget and pass on events spent. But. What is that this autobiographies is totally true?  Can we be sure that they are reliable ?            Events we be can be exaggerated because there is that one point of view. 
II) What are the various types of autobiographies ? 
There are many different autobiographies like a sculpter (Dali)or a painted.
The artists make autobiographies so that we remember them. They want to leave a track of them when they will be left. It is also to show in the others how he sees itself. For example Dali sees itself deformed.

I) Real but not accurate : In some cases
- William Wells Brown and his "new start" as a person and a new era in his story
-Biased: But are other autobiographies true ? or did the author create an alternative life/events to fill his real life ? is WWB (or any other author of an autobiography) trustworthy ? are there any sources or anything ?

II) Autobiographies in art: Selfportraits and the notion of abstract
-Lucian Freud and his autoportraits which represent the passing of time and show how ageing really is
-Dali with is surnaturnal autopainting surrounded by symbolism

what is an autobiography ?
-> autobiography : usually, it's when an author decide towrite about his life.
But it can be in others kind of art : autoportrait Dali.

I/Is memory reliable or not ?
-how do an author deal with the fac that he has to remeber everything every detail of their lives.
ex : Maria Angelu.
-Usually, the author write about a special event for him, not every things in his childhood -> maybe not that reliable.
ex : a significant event.
-Can the author change the past ? -> bond of trust with the reader. 

II/Biased or unbiased
-The author can't be objective in an autobiographie : it's his own story so he has a personnal eyes on the facts.
ex : WWB gives only his point of view, he's shocked by what had lived.

I/ A considerable importance for the reader
-Give another point of view on fact that we sometimes already know.
ex :Anne Franck.
