I learned that when you are controlling the mouth of a hand puppet, you have to move your thumb more than your other four fingers, because it creates a more realistic and human-like movement. Before I saw the presentation, I did not think of it that way. I thought that this was a very good observation from this group.
As for my presentation, I think that the most interesting thing that I learned about marionettes was that the history is quite unclear. Originally, I had thought that there were be a lot of information about its origins because I thought it was one of the more popular type of puppets. Also, I learned that there is a Japanese marionette theater company. Before this project, I had thought that marionettes were only used in Europe. Also i remember that among the European, marionette was considered as most delicate and most difficult to master. 
From other presentations I learnt that the hand puppets is difficult to master each movement and the puppets face piece is removable to change the face expressions.

It's really hard to make the object come to life and make a good illusion because a person has to control it with their hands right behind the object. 
From other presentations I remember/learnt that bunrakus have different levers/buttons to control the face. They also have many different faces to stick on to different bodies. 
Another thing I remember from other presentations were that for hand puppets you need to use the thumb more than your other fingers to make the illusion better. It was really fun to learn about this ancient and traditional Japanese puppets. I think this unit was really useful because before the unit, I only knew that there were Japanese puppets but I din't know anything about it. One performance i remembered was the hand puppets presentation. I think that the group explained well even thought Luis was not there, and it was also really cool how Luis recorded his part and made his contribution on the actual presentation. for me I thought how bunraku puppets can show their expressions and feeling with the movement of the performers was pretty cool,I also learned that it takes lots of practice to become that good and move your fingers  at the same time.
