The refugee/immigrant problem that we are suffering right now in Turkey started on 29 April 2011 because of the civil war in Syria. The Turkish government has announced they will implement an "open door policy" for them. Although they first announced that they would accept just 100.000 immigrants from Syria, they broke their promise. And now, though the civil war in Syria has ended, Turkey still accepts immigrants from both Syria and other Middle Eastern countries in an uncontrolled way.

According to this article, tuberculosis, polio, measles, and some other contagious diseases are more common in immigrants because they cannot be diagnosed early. And because of that these diseases are transmitted to other people more easily. These diseases have become more common in Turkey in the last few years compared to past ones.

One of the most important problems of migration in Turkey is the integration of them into our culture. As we are completely different in terms of our language, marriage culture, and sects we are having so many problems with them. While settling down in our country they do not leave their habits and cultures completely different from ours. They are continuing them in Turkey and this leads to problems because for example they are polygamous and we are mostly monogamous. According to an article, another big problem is that Syrians living in city centers generally prefer suburbs to pay low rent. Several families can stay together in houses that are already in adverse conditions. This situation, above all, encourages unplanned construction and slums.
