Chicago is divided into five factions. Erudite, Amity, Dauntless, Abnegation, and Candor. The main character is a 16 year old girl from abnegation named Beatrice Prior. In the beginning of the story Beatrice and Caleb(Beatrice’s Brother)had to chose to stay or change factions when they turn 16. But when Beatrice was doing her aptitude test , She found out that she is divergent. So when they went to chose their factions. She thought that she could start off new in Dauntless. She meet new friends in Dauntless, like Christina and Four. Christina is a short black haired girl from Candor. Christina is Beatrice's only friend that she gets along with. Four has dark blue eyes and dark brown hair with a scar on his chin. Four is tough as nails(They use similes). He can be harsh at sometimes but if he likes you he will be nice to you. Even with good friends in Dauntless, Dauntless was very difficult for Tris(Beatrice changed her name to Tris). It was difficult because Tris was not really physical. She wasn’t good at fighting.
