Hull (body): Fiberglass or wood
Deck (top): Fiberglass or wood with non-slip paint/tape
Mast & Rigging (pole + ropes): Aluminum mast; strong synthetic rope
Sails: Dacron (durable fabric)
Metal parts: Stainless steel (small fittings can be bought at hardware stores)
Inside: Plywood, wood trim, waterproof fabric

Hull (body): Fiberglass or wood

Fiberglass: Light, strong, and doesn’t rust — easy to shape into a boat.
Wood: Strong, floats well, and looks nice.

Deck (top): Fiberglass or wood with non-slip paint/tape

Fiberglass/Wood: Strong and durable.
Non-slip paint/tape: Stops you from slipping when the deck is wet.

Mast & Rigging (pole + ropes): Aluminum mast; strong synthetic rope

Aluminum: Light but strong, so it’s easy to hold the sails up.
Synthetic rope: Won’t rot and is strong for holding sails in place.

Sails: Dacron (durable fabric)

Dacron: Strong, keeps its shape, and lasts a long time in sun and wind.

Metal parts: Stainless steel (small fittings)

Stainless steel: Strong and doesn’t rust, good for hooks, cleats, and fasteners.

Inside: Plywood, wood trim, waterproof fabric

Plywood: Light, strong, and easy to cut.
Waterproof fabric: Stops seats and cushions from getting soggy.
