Whether it be forgetting your homework, to study for a test, or forgetting your house keys. These problems can take many forms, like the other three. However, these situations occur most often.

Catastrophes are one of the two most impactful events that can happen to one's life. These stressors can emotionally/mentally scar someone depending on the person's resilience, and if they're willing to accept for what has happened, as most of these events are beyond the person's control. Thus the effect it has on the individual is significantly higher. An example of this would be the death of a loved one. These events are always negative.

Similar to catastrophes, these can change a person's outlook on life and their general personality. However, these stressors can be taken in a positive way. Although, they can just as easily be taken as a negative change, depending on the person's personality and original lifestyle. For example, becoming a mother or a father.

These changes are sudden and unpredictable, similar to catastrophes as well. However, aren't long lasting, and are just short quick bursts of adrenaline to get the person's body into fight or flight response mode. These changes can be a window breaking in your house, a dog barking near you, or lightning from a thunderstorm.

The main problem with relieving stress through smoking, drinking alcohol, procrastinating, isolating yourself from people, etc, is that they end up causing even more problems and issues for you to deal with in the future. These methods may help the person cope with stress, for a short period of time, practicing these strategies over time will cause addictions and bad habits begin to form, creating more stress for the person.

The most helpful stress-relieving strategies that are most beneficial for your health are yoga/meditation, drawing, singing, writing/reading stories, exercising, listening to music, etc, are all really good methods of relaxation or serve as a distraction from your stressors. These methods are much better than the unhealthy ones because these methods won't cause health problems or issues to develop, and will actually boost your well-being and attitude towards life. The song that is attached below is a personal favorite, it helps me relax if I'm stressed, or while I do my classwork or homework.
Bon Voyage By: DROELOE

Some people aren't able to cope with stress on their own, most likely due to their personality that was influenced by an event in their past. If you're one of those people, don't fight stress alone, find someone to help you with your problems. Just talking to someone about your problems is enough to lift pressure off of you. Bonus points for that person if they actually give you good advice. Whether or not that someone be a family member, a friend, teacher, or a therapist, if they're willing enough to listen to you speak about whats on your mind and if they help you out with some issues then I advise you to seek their help more often.

If you know someone who has been struggling with stress, talk to them about their problems, be a good listener, give them good advice if you can. Try not to seem insensitive, don't laugh or joke about it, if they take it seriously you should too, it might just end up making them feel weak and thus causing them to feel sad. If they are reluctant to talk about their problems, they're exercising one of the unhealthy methods of coping with stress, isolating themselves from their peers or family. Try to relate to them as much as possible, and please don't tell the person to "cheer up" or "relax", that's only going to make them irritated making it more difficult to talk to them. Long story short, talk about their problems as if they're your own.
