Curiously this text presents an analogy with child rearing.

There are plenty of situation which we can see this analogy like for example "The secret to growing rice that thrives is to provide a proper environment", a good enviroment for a child is the one where he feels be loved and has the needed atettion. Other similaritie is when it said "sometimes you have no control over natural conditions", in a way expressing that childs can act in a way than adults can´t control but is completly natural.

Other analogy could be, if you care for your child he will grow up strongly and sure of himself, just like in the line " Care for them properly and they will grow to be mature, tender, and strong"

To conclude, this text just teaches us in the same way we care about rice or children, that could work in other aspects of the life. I would like to talk about my passion in life, that if I  have to define it, I would say it is meeting new people.

Let's begging by saying that meeting different and new people was something that results me interested since I was just a child. In that way I could know what people believes in some aspects of life, or even by learning new things about particular themes. To illustrate this point, when I meet with oldest people I sometimes ask them about what do they thing about a politician for example, or maybe about new technology. I ask different people to develop ideas based on differents points of view and in that way I make a strong idea.

Sang Ly gives them news about Stung Meanchey and Lena but doesn't dare tell them about the teachings Sopeap gave them. The three remain residing in the house where the uncle's mother-in-law lives, although she is not very happy and they do not like it.

The next day, Ki finds work helping a local rice farmer plant his crops while Sang Ly takes care of Nisay. Sang Ly finds the Healer's wife, who tells him that the Sang will find her there in two days. When Sang Ly returns home, he notices the mother-in-law cooking rice on her stove, using Sang Ly's leather storybook for fuel. Sang Ly snatches the book, but many pages have already been ripped out and burned. The guy apologizes for what happened.

The next morning Sang Ly washed clothes on the river bank. The aunt comments that she still talks to Lena on the phone sometimes and says that while she is proud of reading Sang Ly, she is also concerned that she will take a job outside of Stung Meanchey and leave her behind. Sang Ly mentions that she would like to live in a peaceful place like a town to which the aunt mentions that there is poverty and ugliness.
