Each classroom was a part of the westward expansion unit. One room made homemade butter, one created their own covered wagons, one played the Oregon Trail game and wrote journals, and the last one played a game where they experienced the hardships of the trail.  The kids kept wanting to come back the next day because their interest had been sparked a head of time and they were curious about what would happen the next day.
