They are the antagonists because in the story they are all against Bruno and Shmuel. The father is an antagonist because he was always against Bruno, and helped the Fury capture Shmuel. The fury because they started the whole thing. When the main character Bruno finally decides to go to the other side of the fence which is where the concentration camps are he was with Shmuel. Everything was fine when they were looking for Shmuel's dad because nothing extremely bad happened, yet he felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave also it was freezing. Then they went into the big room heard a loud sound and that was the end. The book describes that his family never found him. Does this mean he died? Does this mean he was mistaken as a jew?
