"I remember being hit on the wrists with a twelve inch ruler because I did not follow the directions in class.... But how could I? The teacher gave them in English." - Roberto. (Jimenez 14).

Roberto has grown up being forced to have patience and always try his hardest when sometimes It wasn't always good enough, for the wrong reasons. This quote explains perfectly how much he had to go through in the school systems when he couldn't understand what the teacher was saying. For this reason, all teachers need to be aware of the diversity in their classroom. A student should never not feel good enough due to language barriers or anything for that matter.
