Narration of the Hadith:

In the hadith, Jibril asks the Prophet Muhammad three key questions:

1. What is Islam?

2. What is Iman?

3. What is Ihsan?

The Prophet answers each question, detailing the five pillars of Islam, the six articles of faith, and the concept of worshiping Allah as if one sees Him.

Narrators:

This hadith is narrated by Umar ibn al-Khattab and is found in various collections, including Sahih Muslim and Sahih al-Bukhari. It is considered a foundational text in understanding Islamic theology and practice.

Hikmah (wisdom) is gained through reflection, knowledge, and experience. It requires sincerity, patience, and a deep connection with Allah. True wisdom allows a person to distinguish right from wrong and act justly. Seeking it through the Quran, Sunnah, and righteous company leads to a balanced and enlightened life.

**Quranic Verse:**

*"He grants wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever is granted wisdom has certainly been given much good. But none will remember except those of understanding."* (Quran 2:269)

**Hadith:**

The Prophet ﷺ said: *“When Allah wishes good for someone, He bestows upon him the understanding of the religion.”* (Bukhari & Muslim)

**Conclusion:**

Hikmah is a divine gift that transforms knowledge into meaningful action. It is nurtured through faith, learning, and reflection, allowing a person to navigate life with righteousness and clarity.

Hikmah in ibadah (worship) means understanding its purpose and performing it with sincerity, devotion, and mindfulness. It’s not just about rituals but about deep spiritual connection with Allah. True wisdom in worship brings tranquility, strengthens faith, and refines character, leading to a meaningful relationship with the Creator.

*"And establish prayer for My remembrance."* (Quran 20:14)

**Hadith:**

The Prophet ﷺ said: *“Pray as you have seen me praying.”* (Bukhari)

**Conclusion:**

Ibadah with hikmah goes beyond routine actions—it nurtures the soul and brings one closer to Allah. When done with understanding and sincerity, worship transforms a person’s heart, character, and life.

Preparing for **solat** with **khushu'** (humility and concentration) involves physical, mental, and spiritual readiness. It starts with sincere **wudu'**, wearing clean clothes, and choosing a quiet place. Mentally, one should clear distractions and remember that they are standing before Allah. Spiritually, understanding the meaning of prayers enhances devotion.

**Quranic Verse:**

*"Certainly will the believers have succeeded: They who are humbly submissive in their prayer."* (Quran 23:1-2)

**Hadith:**

The Prophet ﷺ said: *“When one of you stands to pray, he is conversing with his Lord, so let him pay attention to how he speaks.”* (Bukhari)

**The Virtue of Solat with Khushu'**

A person who prays with khushu' attains inner peace and earns immense rewards, as true devotion in prayer reflects sincerity and submission.

**Quranic Verse:**

*"Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows what you do."* (Quran 29:45)

**Hadith:**

The Prophet ﷺ said: *“The first thing a person will be held accountable for on the Day of Judgment is their prayer. If it is sound, the rest of their deeds will be sound.”* (Tirmidhi)

**Conclusion:**

Khushu' in solat elevates it from a mere duty to a source of peace and guidance. It refines character, strengthens the soul, and brings one closer to Allah, ensuring success in this life and the Hereafter.

**The Virtue of Sawm (Fasting)**

Fasting purifies the soul, strengthens self-discipline, and deepens one’s connection with Allah. It teaches patience, gratitude, and empathy for the less fortunate. Sawm is a means of attaining **taqwa** (God-consciousness) and carries immense rewards, both in this life and the Hereafter.

*"O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous."* (Quran 2:183)

**Hadith:**

The Prophet ﷺ said: *“Whoever fasts in Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, his past sins will be forgiven.”* (Bukhari & Muslim)

Fasting is not just abstaining from food but a spiritual exercise that refines character and strengthens faith. It brings one closer to Allah, increases patience, and ensures eternal rewards in the Hereafter.
