         <description><![CDATA[<div>For my Genius Hour Project, I hope to master and learn how to cook. I am mostly trying to learn how to cook dessert items, but if I can master that before the project is due than I will try to cook breakfast and dinner items. I first want to learn how to cook cupcakes and cake, then I want to try to back cookies if possible. I have always wanted to learn how to cook, because it seems fun, I love food, and maybe one day I could own my own restaurant and be the head chef. I will use cook books and the internet to learn how to cook all my food items that I create, I will research and try my best to find all the answers of my questions. I am very excited about this project because I have never got to choose what I want to do in a project, I finally get to do something that I think will be fun. Im not forced to do something that I hate or that I don't want to do. For my final product I will bring one dessert that I feel like I cook the best, and If I have time I will bring 3 food items, a breakfast, dinner, and a dessert item. That is if I can master cooking and making dessert food. Nevertheless this will be quite difficult, and very messy,  because I will be using a lot of flour, egg and milk, all of those can be very messy when mixing them altogether.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This week I made my first dish. I made Easter bunny dump cake, it was pretty successful, I thought it tasted really good. I learned that just because you put cake mix in your dish it won't always look or tasted like cake. I was curious why it didn't look like cake, it look more like pie crust. One thing I was very confused about my dish, was that it had a bit of a spicy taste and that confused me,. One thing I did very well was my timing, and what I mean is, I took the the Easter bunny dumb cake out at the perfect time, the crust was a great golden brown color. I could have spread the apples more.But overall I think I did really well. But I think next week I am going to challenge myself, by cooking chocolate chip cookies from scratch, that will be very difficult and messy, because if you mess up the dough, even a tiny bit, the cookies are ruined, so I have to really concentrate when making and kneading the dough. I will also being making cupcakes, this also might be quite difficult. Because you have to put the right amount of milk in order to make the cupcake fluffy and moist, theres nothing worst than a dry cupcake. I got the easter bunny dump cake recipe from my local grocery stores website HEB.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This week I  toffey bar cookies, they were success, they were really good. It was kind of messy using brown sugar and butter and can get sticky. But the taste was satisfying, the perfect blend of salty and sweet. the ingredients I used were brown sugar, butter, saltine crackers, and semisweet chocolate chips. I learned that when you melt butter and brown sugar it can create caramel. This was a little more of harder dish to make than the one I made last week, because if cooked the butter and brown sugar to long than they would burn and that would ruin the dish. I think next week I wil try to challenge myself and make cupcakes, this can be challenging, because when you make the frosting you can make it to sweet because you don't want that to overpower the cake because of how sweet the frosting is and you want to use the right amount of milk when making the cake, because you don't the cake to be to moist or to dry. If I over mix the batter it won't be as fluffy. If I over cook them then they will dry out, so cooking cupcakes can be very difficult and messy. But I think I can cook them without messing up, If I pay attention and make sure I read the recipe, than my cupcakes should look great.  I used "The Deen Family Cookbool".</div>]]></description>

         <title>Genius Hour</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This week I was unable to bake cupcakes, so instead I made cookies and creme pudding. This was very fun and easy dish to make, I used milk and cookies and creme pudding powder. I learned that you have to use milk in oreder to make puding, and that yu have to put the pudding mix in the refridgerator, so that the pudding mix hardens and thickens into pudding. I did not know any of this before hand, before I thought people use water and that once you mix it all up it hardens and thickens up. The pudding was quite delightful, it was very delecious. Cookies and creme pudding would be a nice little snack or dessert when it's hot outiside, because you have to put the pudding in the refridgerator. It's a good snack for little kids, who have a bit of a sweet tooth. Next week I would love to bake some cupcakes. I want to challenge myself, because when I challenge myself, I will get a ittle bit better. Even if I fail at making the cupcakes it will still be a success, because tried my best baking them. This could be quite messy using flour, because if you mix flour it spray everywhere, and thats bad because you're wasting flour. I have to use the right amount of milk so that the cupcakes can be moist. Maybe I could do a cake next week to If I have time. But I've always wanted to learn how to bake cupcakes because I love cupcakes and they taste very good. I hope to make chocolate flavored or perhaps even birthday cake flavored cupcake, but if I achieve at baking these I will fell very proud of myself. I hope I can bake the cupcakes without messing them up or making a mistake.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Unfornatley I didn't make any cupcakes this week, but instead I made double chocolate nut brownies this week. They were a success, they were very delicious and moist, they were not dry at all. This was a very easy dish to make. This dish is perfect for little kids who like chocolate, because this dish has a lot of chocolate. I learned that you put water in the brwonie mix in order to make brownies. I thought that you are suposed to use milk, but you can use water instead. This was really fun to make because brownies are my favorite dessert. I hope that I can make this perfectly, without any directions or looking at any recipes. Next week I really want to try and make pie, preferably blueberry pie, because blueberry pie is my favorite kind of pie. Now I know this will be very challenging to make because you have to make the crust and the fruit mix. I have to do the crust perfectly because if I mess it up the the pie is ruin, because the crust is what makes a pie a pie. But I think I can make this without messing up, but if I mess up. I will keep trying until I get it right. I might try to make chocolate chip cookies next week to or chocolate mousse because I have always wanted to try to make chocolate mouuse. But this will be challenging to make to because if I make it grainy its ruined or if I don't make it creamy enough or thick enough it's ruined. So mousse is more challenging to make then it seems, but I believe that I can make it without ruining it, because I have been doing research on mousse, so I think I can do it.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Genius Hour</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This week I made oatmeal raisin cookies, and they were very delicious. They were very easy dish to make, and I am not raisin fan, but that cookie was delicious. This dish is perfect for kids who love raisins, and it's perfect for parents who are trying to get their kid/kids to eat raisins. This was one of my favorite sweets to make, and I will be making these scrumptious cookies again. I never really realized how soft and chewy oatmeal cookies are, so I learned that this week. Next week I think I will make banana pudding, or strawberry short cakes, and a cake or a mini cake. Baking a cake will be very difficult because  it's basically a couple cake but bigger, making this more difficult. Because  it's bigger it's going to need more milk, more eggs, and other ingredients. Which means I have to be very precise when making the cake, because I have to make sure that it is moist because if it's dry, then it won't taste as good. I have to make sure that it's fluffy and soft, because no one wants a hard cupcake. If I make banana pudding that won't be as hard as making cup cakes, or strawberry short cakes. Because I won't have to worry about cooking it or making it moist and fluffy. Instead I have to worry about the quantity of stuff I put in. For example, in the banana pudding recipe you have use vanilla extract, and if I put to much vanilla extract then the pudding would be ruin and gross because the vanilla would be too strong. Or if I put too much milk in the pudding, the pudding would be ruin because it would be to runny and watery. It won't be thick enough.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This week I made strawberry cupcakes that had butterscotch frosting. This was the first time that I have made cupcakes, and I thought that when I first make cupcakes it would be very hard and messy, but it wasn't like that at all. It was easy and it was only a little messy. The cupcakes were very delicious, they were very soft, moist, and fluffy. My final product that I am presenting to the class are cupcakes, because they were my favorite dish that I have cook, and I feel confident that I can bake them again. These past two months have been really fun. I have learned so much about baking and what I'm capable to do. I never would have thought that I could have cooked/bake the things that I did. Even when this project is officially over I am going to continue on baking and cooking because I really enjoy doing this. I never would have thought that I  would enjoy cooking or baking but I do, and it's all because of this project. So far I have learned a lot of stuff like, instead of milk you use water, or instead of eggs you can use Greek yogurt. I learn why milk and/or water makes things moist. But overall my experience was amazing, I have learned how to bake brownies, cookies, cake, cupcakes, and I have learned how to make pudding. In the future I want to learn how to bake pie, make ice cream, jello, and other bakery stuff. But I don't only want to bake stuff I want to cook stuff like hamburgers and steaks. I want to be able to help my mom cook on Thanksgiving, because she is the only one that cooks, and I want to be able to help her because she shouldn't have to cook all that food by herself.<br><br></div>]]></description>
