Constant Taxes

The constant taxes dumped onto the colonists would make those in the New England colonies bankrupt. the Sugar Act, the Tea Act, the Quartering Act, and the Townshend act. Were the first of many taxes added on to the normal taxes. Also some acts that the Stamp Act took away basic rights like a trial by jury. Most of the acts hurt the northern economy. This could have been resolved if the British started to let lose their control over us. Or give us our rights back so we would be more likely to stop rebelling and start paying taxes.

Coming out of the French and Indian War the British were in serious debt. Their new prime minister promised not to impose new taxes on the people of Great Britain. So they started to impose new taxes on the American colonists even though they had 50 countries under their control. So the British could have imposed smaller taxes over 50 countries to negate the debt instead of focusing on just America. But Since they taxed us so harshly we decided that we could no longer survive if we have no money from paying taxes.

If we were allowed to trade with other countries. We would be able to make more revenue and give new jobs so that we wouldn't have to pay an arm and leg for basic needs. If we were able to get more money we could help our economy. It will also make the taxes less detrimental as more people start working. This would help the economy of Great Britain because, they would be able to pay off their national debt quicker. If we had traded the abundance of supplies throughout Europe. We would not have the supplies to fight the British. Also if they let us represent ourselves in parliament we would have been a lot more likely to pay taxes.
