I took Latin beyond the requirement because I have been doing it since 5th grade and it has expanded my vocab a lot. If I am taking a test and do not know a word I can get a basic understanding of it just because of the Latin.

I feel like it's fun to learn about the history and mythology that comes with reading the language, almost like a history class instead of a language class where you have to learn to speak it.

I have taken Latin since 6th grade, so I decided to continue in high school. When I started at BK, the class and the people all grew close together, so the community has been great, and it's fun to learn about new things and history.

The best part about reading ancient literature in the original language is being able to clearly understand what was implied in the message. A lot of times when people translate Latin texts they mess up a lot of things in the stories or scripts, so it is important to understand what we are reading. A lot of these texts are things that are similar to our current governments and world issues.

Latin will help me in my future because I want to become a lawyer. It helps a better understanding of many legal phrases and through studies it is known that students who take Latin score higher on tests such as the SAT and the LSAT.

Latin helps me understand words and expand my vocabulary. Upon hearing advanced words which I don't know, I recognize the Latin roots which allows me to easily identify the word. This allows me to excel in my fields beyond my colleagues and peers.

I started taking Latin in my freshman year, and I always felt happy and accepted. Mrs. Moylan tries the hardest out of any teacher I have ever had, and she successfully tells us and teaches us. Honestly, my mom works here, and Mrs. Moylan feels more like a mother half the time.
