When it comes to the watch industry, countries such as Switzerland and Japan are not newbies. Rather, they are considered as the pioneers in the watchmaking world. However, the competition is tight as others claim that they are the best in the manufacturing field.

As various watch trends rose to fame in the past years, watch manufacturing companies are also striving hard to meet the market’s demands for smartwatches, hybrid watches, and most recently, the minimalist watches.

The ‘minimalist craze’ has given other companies, even the start-up ones, an opportunity to cater the preferences of consumers who like simple but stylish watches. Thus, several watch brands started having their own line of minimalist collections.

The best minimalist watches manufacturers are everywhere. There is a pattern of great globalization that is happening in the watch world today as China and Hong Kong continue to be the top hubs of most watch manufacturing facilities.

China and Its Strategic Location

Shenzhen in Guangdong Province is where most watch factories are situated. This is mainly attributed to its location. It is a city surrounded by a network of parts manufacturers and assembly suppliers. This means that sourcing and buying needed components are faster with reduced shipping costs than getting it from other places.

Hong Kong: The Free Trade

Hong Kong, an autonomous territory in China, is also one of the known manufacturing sites primarily because of its free enterprise and free trade economic policy. No tariffs are imposed on any export or import products, except for some that need licenses as part of their adherence to few requirements of the government.

Having an accessible means of transportation going to Shenzhen and vice-versa is also one reason why this is a top pick among manufacturers, especially in the watch industry.

The challenge now is for businesses to determine which one can cater to their needs. As part of any strategic planning, research plays a vital role in its overall effectivity. Either of the two can be a bet; you just need to do your part as well.
