I am self-taught on the ultrasound machine and have used many techniques to get an IV. This product intrigues me, but I’d love to see it in live action. I’m a very hands on person and an actual live demonstration would better help my opinion on how well it works. The theory itself I like; with the appropriate amount of pressure all over the arm, then the veins will be easier to find and be easier to access. I do like the one time use for improved hygiene. Since it has tape to secure it in place, it ensures that when it comes off, that it cannot be reused. Also, with it being of a paper material, if the patient wants or needs to take it off then they can without trouble. Often times I have seen patients try and remove the current tourniquets and it only makes it tighter. Overall, I like the product and can’t wait to see more studies to support its use.
