Answer: The election results are declared 14 days after the election. Every ballot paper is counted on election night and the counted again to ensure the voter's intentions are clear and then recounted (a lot on counting). Returning Officers scrutinize roles and this is done by marking off a copy of the electoral roll of people who have voted. This marked roll becomes the 'Master Roll' and is available for the public to see after the election itself. This process identifies the voters who have voted more than once and exclude them from the official count.

Answer:

A political debate is contention in argument, dispute, controversy, discussion; especially the discussions of questions of public interest in Parliament. Often is about legislative debates and debates among candidates for elective office. political debates over legislation allow individuals members of the lawmaking assembly to speak for or against a proposed bill, they have the chance to convince undecided legislators to their side and they win if they have more supporters. one recent example of a political debate that occurred in NZ is the election 2014:leaders' debate. they debate on what to do to improve NZ and talk about what they will do better to improve if they win.

Mrinalini: What happened on the 18th September 2014 in Scotland? Explain to the class what the result is and what it means for the future of Scotland.

Answer: On the 18th of September in the Country of Scotland alongside the bagpipes you could hear something else. THE SOUND OF THE PEOPLE POSTING REFERENDUMS. This according to the dictionary is ‘a general vote by the electorate on a single political question that has been referred to them for a direct decision.’ But I’m sure you all knew that. In this particular case the question is ‘Should Scotland is an independent country.’The result has not yet been counted; I assume they are still working on it. They expect the results to be fairly close together. Since we have not yet been graced with the future decision I can only present to you the internet’s assumption of what will happen. Firstly they would gain an independence day. The government’s white paper would set its independence day to March 26th 2016. Until then Scotland would still remain part of the UK. They would also gain their own military which would of course cost them money. How big the military will be and how much they will fund them would be up to the elected parliament. The currency would also be an issue; Debates are still ongoing on whether the independent country would keep the British pound. Many more things just as important would be happening but alas I am running out of time and space. Although if the referendum concludes that Scotland will in fact remain a part of the UK nothing will really change.
