This act formed a line along the Appalachian Mountains so that the colonists couldn't pass over into the Native American Territory. The British passed this act to keep peace with the Natives. This kept most of the colonists along the Atlantic coast. Some colonists become outraged that they fought for the land but weren't allowed to go into it so they decided to cross over the Appalachian Mountains anyways.

The colonists were taxed on every piece of printed paper they used. This included ship's papers, legal documents, licenses, other publications, and playing cards. The government passed this act to collect money to help pay the costs of defending and protecting the American frontier near the Appalachian Mountains. The colonists became offended by this act because of the standard it seemed to set.

This act had imposed duties on glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea imported into the colonies. The Parliament hoped that the acts would defray the imperial expenses in the colonies. Many Americans viewed this act as an abuse of power over the colonies.

This forced the colonists to provide the British soldiers with any of their needed accommodations and housing. The act also required the colonists to provide food for any of the British soldiers in their area. The acts were originally intended as a response to issues that arose during the French and Indian War. This became a source of tension between the Thirteen Colonies and the government in England. This tension later fueled the fire that led to the American Revolution.
