This activity can be adapted to the children's needs and is easily made from materials that are easier for educators to get.

Fine Motor Skills for the child is that she can grab hold the scoop by her fingers which increase her finger muscles and flexibly. Gross Motor Skills is that increase her arm muscle and movement of transferring the small ball into the container.

This activity we can make use of recycle cardboard material to place all the small balls and also use any recycled plastic "biscuit" container to transfer the ball in.

For gross motor skills, the activity allows the ability to focus on their skill to reach forward, moving their arm in different directions to catch the fish while balancing themselves.

refining/practising the pincher grasp by letting the child pull “tissue out of the box” the tissue is harder to grasp then other “sorter toys” but the child can tackle this! a further fine motor area by learning how to push the tissue toy back into the box.

gross motor is also covered by the child having to steady the box in order to pull out the tissue from the hole.

this can also be easily made at home by using an actual empty tissue box and scrap fabric. if desired, caregiver can sew on large beads and sequins onto the tissue to give the child textures to explore beyond just the cloth.

Purpose: Let child practice their pincer/palmer grip for grabbing the item and dropping them into the tray as well as developing their hand and eye coordination skills.

The gross motor skill will be on their movement to get the objects from a separate box as well as stabilizing their core muscle on balancing while sitting.

A 11-month-old child will show curiosity when they see the tunnel and a ball as part of their physical activity. Crawling activity remains as a vital aspect of developmental milestone as they focus on gross motor skills to get on the ground while strengthening their shoulders, arms, the coordination between right and left sides of their body as they push themselves forward to crawl. Observation of fine motor skills is when they develop arches in their hands to grip onto the ball and strengthen their hand muscles to push the ball out through to the other side of the tunnel.

This activity builds on the purpose of discovery and exploration to allow a 11-month-old child to freely roam around, as well as practice on hand-eye-movement coordination.

-uses large muscle which requires the coordination of the major muscles such as shoulders, arms to strengthen and stabilises the upper body.

-Hips and legs that provide the baby to move forward.

Fine motor skills: Hand eye coordination, use of their thumbs and index (pincer grasp) to catch the balls, sensory experience through different textures.

The educator could provide a low sturdy basket with some colourful objects varying in shapes and sizes for the child to play with. The objects can be scattered around the room for the child to reach out or crawl to retrieve them. The objects also provide opportunities to engage their fine motor skills and their interest in inserting and retrieving things. The sturdy basket also can provide them with support to attempt pulling themselves up if they are ready.

Gross Motor Skills:

The child is able to sit and reach for toys without falling. They're well balanced while seated, and able to turn their head as well as torso. They're also able to transfer an item from one hand to another without difficulty.

Fine Motor Skills:

The child is able to use their thumb and finger to pick up small object with pincer grip.

Emerging Skills: child looks ready to move from current space to get toys that are further away, and potentially pull themselves up.

Using palm and exercising some thumb and finger grips, it helps the child with his fine motor skills through picking up and releasing the objects into the muffin tins. Child also learns to sort by colours and shapes and textures.

Child learns to sit legs stretched/crossed to balance himself whilst stretching his hands out to release the pompoms into the holes. He too able to hold both sides of the muffin tray to balance himself.

We can replicate tunnel play with using household materials such as chair and cardboard boxes. These materials are good for encouraging crawling and imaginative play.

Crawling or scooting through the tunnel can enhance the physical activity. It is the beginning of fine motor and at the same time strengthens the core and bilateral coordination skills.
