Book- Obviously the word book's literal meaning is a work written or printed on and bound together. In this piece Emily Dickinson uses the word "book" as a means to travel to a far away place like it is a spaceship or form of transportation.

The attitude that the speaker is using is like happy and trying to share the happiness. She exclaims that a book is a better form of transportation than a boat and a fearless Knight's horse.

The shift in this poem starts at line five because at the beginning the writer talks about how the book is a better form of transportation than the best of things but in line 5 she starts saying that even the poorest can take this "transportation" and it is amazing because it is inexpensive and comes with the human soul and all it's imagination.

Theme- The theme of this poem is exploration because it says that a book is the best way to go far away and be lost in it's wonders.

Message- The message is that books can take one far away and make them feel free and they are also relatively cheap so anyone can go get one.
