It was interesting to hunt down messages that were forwarded multiple times and breaking them down to separate facts from fiction.

There was a lot of misinformation that at first glance looked reputable since it showed “sources” or was on a website. It was unexpectedly easy to find some fake news usually on family groups or groups with a number of people. There were a lot of controversial messages but people didn't bother checking the accuracy of the info.

started going through fake news sent on family whatsaap groups of both mine and hers yet to be busted. Most fake news was forwarded by our grandmothers and it lessesned in number as the members grew younger.

We came across several fake news that were being forwarded on various social media platforms, and talked about them to our respective families. We told them that messages or posts which had been forwarded several times, or those which couldn't be linked to reliable sources were most probably fake. Many news stories were just clickbait, and posts with amateurish writing were not credible as well.
