He was born on October 14, and was arrested after a call from a local grocery store who said that George Floyd refused to take back the counterfeit $20 bill with which he had bought cigarettes, and was drunk and out of control. As he appeared to be getting ready to hit the road again. He was handcuffed and sat on the sidewalk before being taken to a police car where he refused to get in. He struggled with the police officers and so the police officers mobilized him on the ground including Derek Chauvin who immobilized him by applying knee pressure on his neck for several minutes. The police officers called an ambulance because George Floyd complained many times that he could not breathe and moaned, calling for help before he stopped talking and moving.
