I have been having an ongoing issue for about 2 and a half years now, but thankfully at this point, It is almost gone. I had vertigo which is not expected in many people of my age, but really common for Adults. In my experience "Vertigo" makes you: dizzy, gives you headaches, makes you naseauted, forces you to be claustrophobic, and just overall it is not a pleasant thing to deal with every day. Somehow I got it and we did not know for a significant amount of time. We went to doctors everywhere in Dallas to the best of the best, doing tests and other things to try to find out what was going on with me. A year and a half goes by and eventually, not even the doctors found out, but my mom did. I took so many medications in the past 2 years in the hopes of getting better I didn't care what I was taking at that point. My mom had vertigo a while back before me and she had one of the medications for it, so I tried it. Usually, no medication from like the hundreds of doctors I had visited would work, but this one surprisingly did. But it was really late at this point. My issue not being treated for as long as it had been would mean it would take very long for it to dissipate. The second year of me not attending school was still going on and it was too late to catch up on this year, so I had to wait for it to finish out. I started taking online classes to gain some credits to ease the stress on me when I would return, but with a lack of motivation and no will power I became super lazy. My routine was horrible and started from the point I woke up somewhere between 12 and 2 unless I had an early appointment. It consisted of playing video games most of the time, eating, sleeping really late, and then repeating it. I barely completed a full credit and at this point, my "Vertigo" wasn't completely gone, it would come and go as it would please. I was in a very bad spot when it came to graduating and being able to do school, but somehow corona came causing schools to start being virtual. It felt like God himself had presented this opportunity upon me to try to catch up and get a hold of myself. School starting up would change everything, my fatigue is steadily going away, my energy is imminent, and my routine is not spoiled anymore. Hopefully, it stays this way so I can continue on with life with normal complications. ...

As my first of High School came around I was excited, mainly for the new experience and added freedom. I was going to be trying out for the soccer team, as I had previously made the 7th and 8th-grade teams, I was looking forward to being on the 9th-grade one. Tryouts had finished after a week of sweat and I made the team. 2 weeks later my symptoms of the ongoing issue I had were showing up. Pushing through several weeks of school feeling horrible in class, going to the nurse's office, missing days in between, and having work pile-up was the worst start to High School I could have. A whole year went by and I attempted to give it another try as school was restarting. I Made the team again, had classes with none of my friends since they were a year ahead in classes, but all of my friends were surprised to see me back and I fit in once again. I was enjoying school, but then it came... I was feeling it all over again. It was Deja vu and things started only going downhill from there. I tried my best to keep a positive attitude but it didn't work. Few months after that I pushed through and completed half a credit which was better than nothing. I started to get mad at myself and motivate myself someway, by keeping my energy up. I started setting small goals, putting reminders so I would push through each day, was working out, taking my dogs out, finally tried my best to not stay in my den with the door shut, instead go spend time with my parents and sister doing things.

Relation to Theme:

This relates to the theme because it shows that even after so many negatives in the past two years I drove myself to do something that would do nothing but only encourage myself and keep my mind in a better place.

My "Vertigo" still has not been fully fixed and I do have problems from time to time. When I do normal things such as bending down to pick up something I tend to feel dizzy. Working out or running causes me to feel even worse. Despite feeling this way with the easiest of things I set targets for myself, so I can be ambitious. A few months ago I started working out 5 times a week trying to build my body, so I can get bigger since, in the last two years, I started getting a little weaker as I didn't do any physical activity whatsoever. It was extremely difficult at first since. When I was trying to work out I felt as if I was gonna collapse and shut down many times. At some moments I couldn't catch my breath properly and thought I need to stop completely, but I decided to say to myself many times, "one more set, one more, CMON JUST FINISH IT AND GET IT OVER WITH IT"! There were many instances like this where I had to mentally pump myself to move forward in different ways. But It definitely is paying off as people can notice that I have been working out and am now most of the time in a positive spirit.

Relation to Theme:

This relates to the theme it shows how I got a grip of myself and pushed through some of the smallest things to get to where I am today, who is a much healthier and more energized version of myself.
