Event Overview: 

GenAI and Dialogue: An Idea Lab for Revolutionizing Teaching and Learning

Theme: Share Your Teaching & Learning Experiences with Generative AI!

Date/Time: May 2, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM

Location: Pitt’s Oakland campus (Travel expenses from satellite campuses will be reimbursed)

Format: Flashtalk presentations (3–5 minutes)

We are seeking students and faculty members who have employed Generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, etc., in their academic work, whether in the classroom or for personal learning. This is a splendid opportunity to share your journey, be it marked by successes, failures, or ongoing explorations, with GenAI in an educational setting.

Your presentation would not only contribute to a collective understanding of GenAI’s potential and pitfalls in education but also influence how the university can support its effective use. Whether you've used these tools to enhance teaching methodologies or support your own learning, your story can inspire and guide others. We encourage you to apply irrespective of the outcome of your endeavors with these technologies. The day would certainly be enhanced by hearing from you!

To apply for a Flashtalk presenter slot, please complete this Qualtrics survey by April 9. Selected presenters will be notified by April 12 and must be available to participate in person on the event date.

This Idea Lab event aims to foster a vibrant exchange of ideas and practices surrounding the use of GenAI in education, specifically around discourse practices. We are eager to hear your stories of innovation, adaptation, and reflection. Your voice is essential as we collectively navigate the possibilities and challenges of integrating artificial intelligence into our teaching and learning practices.
