In the wildlife everything can looks different as our human life, but the truth is that the animals and us, even when we have our differences, we’re alike in so many aspects. We share habits, conducts, and some techniques or strategies in our social life. Lions are known as the king of the jungle; we are known as the domination of the world even when that it’s wrong. Lions can be scarier and beautiful at the same time, we too. 

In the human’s life, in every country there are a president or governor who rule the whole country with the help of other members in the government who are the face of the country’s right hand. In a community there are sometimes, a representant of the community with a board who help the representant to make decisions. There are majors in town too. The same is for lions; they always have a king with other male lions by his side and some females related to them. All the pack to show him some respect and he is always guiding or leading that group called pride. The lions need to fight to death with other male lions to win the position as a king, according to an interview in livescience.com “If they survive long enough to find a promising new area, the next step is to take over another pride. But of course, resident males will have none of that, and so they end up fighting, often to the death…They usually do this as a coalition, often consisting of three or four "big, bruising males", humans are not supposed to kill another person to win an election or a position but they have to compete with other persons to win, and there’s when lions and humans can be related.

A human mother is the first food giver to a baby, same for baby lions. The female lions are the principal hunters in the pride, and even though the “hierarchy is males first, followed by females and then cubs” (Bennett, 2018), they still being their first line of food. Besides that, the female lions take most of the care of the cubs, in human parenting the fathers are involve but the mother is the principal in charge of the child and when the parents end the relationship, the mother stay with the child. The difference between female lions and human mothers it’s that the male lions leave their family by the age of “one or two” (Bennett, 2018) and they become totally independent, a human mother will never let that happened and a human child by the age of two still need his mother to eat or do his necessities. But, obviously the wildlife of animals isn’t the same life as a human. 

Lions are social cats, just like humans. Lions always live with their pride and that pride consist of 30 members; 3 males, 12 females related and their younger lions. Lions are raised with other lions, they’re like brothers, sister and cousins. That’s exactly like a human family and they consist, sometimes, of that numbers of members too. Lions create somethings like relationships with other lions in their pride and they look for each other. But if we talk about how they create a sexually relationship, the female lions have a different way to feel attracted to a male lion if we compare how human feel attracted to another human. The female lion it’s a little “picky” when it’s time to feel attracted to a male lion; all depend by the mane of the lion. “The Serengeti lion project determined through experiments with dummy lions that females prefer male lions with darker manes. So, the mane of the lion signals sexual maturity and health status to the females. Therefore, lionesses tend to favor lions with manes. And the darker and thicker, the better” (Bloggers Association of Kenya, 2018). Different to human who can feel attracted with different types of person even if they have differences in the hair, skin color, weight or height and age. Also females lions can have sex with male lions outside the pride but if that occur, the lions of the pride start a fight with lions of outside the pride, but the human can’t have sex with their group or family (pride if we refer to lions). The human need to meet someone else outside the family to have a romantic or sexually relationship and if they have a relationship of that kind with someone of the group or family, it’s considered as an insect. 

In conclusion, the human isn’t so far from animals; we’re like animals and animals are like us. Yes, humans create things like houses, cars, etc., and we have the capacity of use our brain to do that kind of thing and to feel more or think more, but in the necessities or basics animals and humans are the same. We’re all born and alive, we eat, we get hungry and angry, we sleep, we give born, we have family, we also eat each other, we all die. Humans and animals are in this world to live together and complete the cycle of life, just like Mufasa said in “The Lion King” movie. Human’s still thinking that are superior to animals when we all breathe the same air, we touch the same land, we drink the same water. We all deserve to live.

One of the similarities between us and the elephants are the affection and the ability to express care for our love ones. When someone from our family is been gone for too long we express that sentiment of missing them with a hug most of the time, well according to Africa Geographic “when a herd member has been absent or fallen behind, the herd shows great emotion when reconnected. This manifest as a combination of vocalizations and touch.”. Elephants are also very empathic, when we see a person is in distress or going through a rough time we try to comfort them weather is with some conversation, giving them a hug or just listening to them. Elephants do something similar; African Geographic says “when an individual in a herd is in discomfort, other members of the herd have been  seen to make noises in communication with the hurt individual…” “elephants have been seen using touch to comfort other individuals in the herd. By gently using their trunks”.

Another similarity between us and elephants is the mourning of a love one. When someone we love dies, we go through pain and severe depressions, it’s all part of our mourning process and it can takes us a long time to accept completely the fact that the person we lost is no longer with us. Elephants do something almost similar; when a member of the herd dies they will spend hours and sometimes days with the elephant that has died.  According to an article in  A plus.com “the mourning elephants also remain very quiet and still, and appear to engage in a period of deep thought and reflection not unlike what might occur at a funeral service for  a human. The article also gives more proof of the elephants empathic sense; “grieving elephants also comfort and reassure one another loss, showing empathy.” 

            Besides all the similarities we have to the elephants we obviously have differences.  And one of them is that Elephants don’t have a choice about the impact of their existence, according to Rich Laburn “they destroy plants and trees for things that could be of a benefit, trample water sources into muddy pools and create long winding trails that stamp out any form of growth.” They do that things in order for them to function as elephants, they can’t completely control their actions due to their size. Another difference between us and the Elephants is that they are matriarchal, we humans, in an ideal world, we tend to look for protection with our father, because they are supposed to be the head of the family, elephants are completely different. According to A plus “elephants are matriarchal..” “mothers and their children stay together throughout life in tight-knit clans”.

  In conclusion, elephants care, behave, and protect their love ones just like us. Is very sad that there are people that hunts them in order to make them their hunt trophies or to use them as mules for hard work. Even though there are cruel people that do this, there are also people who believes in the protection of elephants, in Thailand there are sanctuaries for them with people who takes care of them, they feed them and when a baby elephant has lost his mother, they gave him all the treatment in a similar way as a mamma elephant would . For me that is a very noble action that makes me still have hope for humanity, elephants are big and they can be scary with their big ivory fangs, but as I proven in this essay they are very loving creatures and also not that different than humans.
