In the text, it says "Had they stabbed him, Andy, or stabbed only the jacket and the title? What good was the title if you were dying?". Andy makes being a Royal a really big part of his identity but he gets killed because of it. Andy is angry at everyone for only seeing him as a Royal. Which is why he tries to take off his jacket before he dies. His efforts are useless when the police officer finds Andy dead with the jacket laying nearby and writes down "Royal" instead of Andy. I think this was meant show that no matter how hard you try, your past will always end up tainting your future. The world identifies him as a Royal but he wants to be seen as Andy. Identity is extremely important.

The guy wasn't mad at Andy he was mad at the jacket, aka because he was a royal.. This is an Aha moment because me and Andy both realised that if he wasn't wearing that jacket he would not have been stabbed. He also wanted to take the jacket off because he didn't want to be called “ oh he's a royal,” all the time. He said a few things to Laura, but they were mostly all about how misses her. He thought of her and was talking about her brown's eyes and black hair, so I think it's distracting him from the pain so I think he cares about her.
